There are many benefits to being a member of AAIR. Not only do you get to keep your finger on the pulse in the ever-changing arena that is institutional research, but you can also embrace the opportunity of networking with peers, accessing the Expertise Sharing program, and obtaining discounts to numerous events, both AAIR events and AAIR partner and affiliate events.
AAIR has a number of membership categories. Individual and Retired memberships are gained upon application. Life Membership and Honorary Life Membership are bestowed either by the Executive Committee or by the members at an AGM. The current categories are:
The AAIR membership is made up of people from many areas associated with tertiary education, from universities, private providers, professional bodies and our AAIR partners.
Our members mostly come from Australia, with a smaller number coming from New Zealand and fewer still from other countries. These members though represent a significant number of institutions and organisations within our region.
Those members who have worked tirelessly for AAIR over many years, had roles on the Executive Committee such as President or Secretary, or have presented at many of the forum events, have been acknowledged by their peers with the conferring of life membership.
AAIR thanks its Life Members, for without them we wouldn’t be where we are today. Life Members continue to play an important role within the Association, their vast experience helping the newer members to understand the various roles of IR and how they can best contribute.
AAIR now offers two annual Fellowships to the value of $2,500 each:
