A reminder to start thinking about your paper for the 2005 AAIR Forum, to be held in Melbourne in November. This year it's a standalone AAIR Forum, so we can't rely on TEFMA for fascinating papers on the selection of cleaning contractors. Also don't forget the New Presenter Awards, whereby people who have not previously presented at an AAIR Forum may have their Forum registration fees waived. Details on the web site.

AAIR COMMITTEE CHANGES Our President, Wendy Marchment, has left the University of Adelaide and will shortly take up a new position at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Tony Nolan was elected to the position of Treasurer at the 2004 AGM. However, this has caused problems with his employer's new conflict of interest rules. Nick Booth is acting as Treasurer and, if he is not careful, may be confirmed in the position by the Committee.

JIR ON THE WEB Our thanks to Raj Sharma and Dennis Ham, who ventured into their vaults to find back issues of the Journal of Institutional Research and the Journal of Institutional Research in Australasia. All issues have now been scanned, and will be on the AAIR web site as soon as some extra storage space can be arranged with our ISP.

OTHER WEB SITE NEWS Raj Sharma has also exhumed the two volumes of the Proceedings of the first AAIR Forum, held in Rockhampton in 1990. These historical items will soon be scanned and placed on the web site. Arrangements are being made to institute a facility to search the site.

2005 SUBSCRIPTIONS NOW DUE AAIR subscriptions are on a calendar year basis, so 2005 subscriptions are now due. You can save AAIR printing and postage costs (and reduce the work for your reluctant Treasurer) by making payment now rather than waiting for a renewal notice. If you need a Tax Invoice, this can be downloaded from the web site: click on the "Membership" button, then follow the link in the line starting "To join AAIR...." This form also has provision for payment by credit card. However, remember that a credit card payment costs AAIR almost $4 in fees, telephone, postage, etc. These costs will not be incurred if you are able to make payment by cheque.

POSITION VACANT: UTS The Planning and Quality Unit at UTS has a vacancy for a Senior Planning and Review Officer. Salary range $60,968 to $69,436. Closing date 4 February. Details at <>, job reference R29105.
