Honorary Members

Honorary membership can be conferred by the Committee at its discretion, or by the President and Secretary acting jointly to someone who is a prominent citizen from within Australasia or abroad who is visiting AAIR for some special occasion.

AAIR thanks its Honorary Members for their contribution to the Association over the years.

Chris Kearns, Honorary Member

(awarded 26 July 2018)

Photo of Honorary Member, Chris Kearns standing in front of an awards wallChris is proud to have been involved with AAIR and the Higher Education sector since 2009. One of his goals in attending the AAIR SIG and Forum each year was to share the lessons learned by Altis in delivering business outcomes for university customers. That’s why Altis choose to co-present with university customers—so that attendees get to hear both sides of the project delivery story. Another of Chris’ goals was to attend as many breakout sessions as possible to learn about what everyone else is doing in the sector. Chris is a firm believer that university partners need to continue to learn as much as possible about the sector in order to be able to add value. And finally, Chris’ third goal was to have fun at AAIR events, often leading the charge to the dance floor and to the event dinner after-party! Chris is moving to London in September 2018 to run Altis’ UK office, and is sad to be saying goodbye to his AAIR friends (for now) after attending AAIR events every year since 2009. He is very humbled to have been awarded AAIR Honorary Membership and hopes to be able to stay in contact with AAIR from afar. Chris was awarded Honorary Membership to AAIR during the AAIR SIG Forum held in Canberra in 2018.

Maureen Wood, Honorary Member

(awarded 07 December 2021)

Executive Committee member, Andrew Bradshaw, spoke about Maureen’s long association with AAIR. She has worked at the Department of Education, Skills and Employment for 10–15 years and has been generous with her association with AAIR over that period. Maureen has participated in AAIR Annual Forums, AAIR SIG Forums, and webinars. Andrew moved that the membership approve the awarding of Honorary membership to Maureen Wood, and  the motion was passed. Maureen was awarded Honorary Membership to AAIR during the AAIR Forum held online in 2021.
