Data Governance
Data is increasingly recognised as a crucial and extremely valuable organisational asset that informs strategic decision making and requires protection. Without governance, an organisation’s data is exposed to risks including poor quality, multiple reference points which lack a single source of truth, unrestricted access and data breaches, and misinterpretation.
The Data Governance SIG has been established to enable colleagues working in data and data governance roles to:
- share their experiences, insights and best practices
- discuss existing and emerging legislative policy requirements
- network with peers at other organisations undertaking similar roles
- hear from peak data governance experts

Tanya is the Senior Lead, Data Governance at the University of the Sunshine Coast. She oversees the delivery of privacy and data governance services across all areas of UniSC.
