Are you looking to navigate the complex world of student administration? Look no further than this interactive online workshop!
This workshop has been designed to introduce you to the legislative and regulatory context of student administration work in Australian universities, the key phases of the student lifecycle, and the interconnectedness of processes which make this field highly transferable across the sector. The session commences with an overview of curriculum development and management, moving through the processes of admissions, enrolments, student fees, timetabling and assessment, culminating in graduation, with key observations on calendars and relevant policy throughout.
The session builds on some of the general information introduced as part of ATEM’s Introduction to the Australian Higher Education Sector, and will offer opportunities for interaction and discussion with fellow participants, the presenter and guest experts in the field. We will explore the impact and influence you can have on your institution as a student administration specialist, concluding with a discussion as to whether ‘student administration’ is still an appropriate term for our work in the modern university, and if/how it can/should be distinguished from the more holistic ‘student lifecycle’ and ‘student services’ terminologies.

But others are significant and will have impact on how you live and work. In an increasingly fast-paced and complex work environment, organisational change is all around us.
In this program, participants will learn the fundamentals of change management and reflect on how they can identify and navigate the breadth of changes within their area/organisation.
Participants will step out of their day-to-day work environment and connect with colleagues from the wider sector who are going through a similar experience. In a safe and supportive space, they will have the opportunity to reflect on how to apply new skills and respond to change in their specific context.
